Step 1: Safely get your car onto some Rhino Ramps,Jack stands,a lift, etc
Step 2: Starting with the axle back, remove the (2) 12mm Bolts from the Y-Pipe to Muffler section.
Step 3: Take some WD40 and spray some into and around the 2 OEM Hanger Bushings. One is located towards the front left side of the muffler and the other is located in the rear right section of the muffler. This will make the struggle a lot more tolerable to get the muffler uninstalled.
Step 4: Slide muffler off of the front hanger/ bushing , this one is easier of the 2 to remove. the rear one will be a little tougher and require you to push the muffler section towards the back of the car to get it off.
Step 5: Move down to the J-Pipe/Mid-Pipe section and remove the (2) 12mm Bolts. Once those are removed you’ll be able to separate the 2 sections.
Step 6: Take a flat head screwdriver and remove the factory donut gasket while your in the area.Step 7: Now all thats left to fully remove the factory exhaust is to get the mid pipe exhaust hanger ( located by the driver side rear axle/wheel ) off the factory Bushing. Using some WD40,spray it down and remove.
Step 8: The Mid-pipe is in 2 sections, we started by installing the section with the Hanger bushing first(closest to the Y-pipe). Spray some Good O’ WD40 onto the hanger and slide into place.
Step 9: V-Clamps Are the best. In order to connect to the 2 mid pipe sections, install the V-clamp between both pipes and tighten down with a 13mm socket/Ratchet. Try to place the bolt/flange of the v band flat towards the ground or any position that doesn’t interfere with the surrounding area. This section is already installed on the exhaust bushing/hanger, so once you have this fully v-clamped down your done.
Step 10: Go back to the J-pipe/Mid/Pipe section and tighten the 2 bolts to the point you feel it isn’t going anywhere. The actual # its suppose to be torqued down hasn’t been made clear, but I’ve read its in the 25.
Step 11: Time to install the other V-Clamp,this time its to attach the Y-Pipe. We chose to jack up the car a couple inches here in order to have some more room but I don’t believe its completely necessary.Following the same directions of the previous step, just line up the 2 sections( Mid-Pipe & Y-Pipe) between the V-Band clamp and Tighten away using the 13mm socket/Ratchet.
Step 12: Now slide the new lubed up wd40 exhaust bushings onto the cars Hanger rods. I installed them about 1 1/4 inches onto the rods and later adjusted accordingly to get the tips even on both sides.
Step 13: So Install the Flat Gasket between the Y-Pipe & Muffler section. Then slide the (2) 14mm Bolt through the 2 holes on the flanges and install the lockings nuts.Like previous steps you’ll want to tighten these down as much as possible to the point you feel there not going anywhere.Just take a 14mm Open end wrench and place on the Locking Nut side and ratchet away on the Bolt side with a 14mm Deep socket.
